    Embroidered sleeve eagle

I tried my best to research this eagle but did not find a match which is likely a bad sign but since it does not glow under black light I thought I should check before selling it as a repro. The back has glue (?) residue which hides some of the details. The lack of details in the chest area is probably the give away but there are many variations and I simply don't have enough experience with these to know for certain.

The color in the last photo is closest to the actual color in hand.

There are things I like about this eagle, but there are things I don't.
The proportions are good, but I think the way the head is executed was totally unnecessary.
    The torso is bizzare.
This might be a variant of a typically found textbook example.
    For me , I'll pass.

Yes, the torso (body) is the most unusual part. I'll wait for a bit more feedback before I write this badge off but I appreciate your input.

IMO this is a reproduction eagle. If you have access to Soldat Volume 11 by Cyrus A. Lee, page 216,
you will find its twin. The glue on the reverse was added to conceal details that would expose it as a repro.

I'd have to say a repro too.
while it's not a common one and it's nicely made as has been said the body design is very strange
          regards

i think a repro cause the back side is really too much different from originals.
