Interesting SS Postcard

Hi Guys,

I came across this one today and found it pretty interesting. Besides, the various helmets (camo, non-camo, etc.), and all the various equipment/weapons close-up, I was struck by the uniforms. Of all those pictured, none wear the collar/runes, but do have eagles on the side and appears to be a Germania cuff-title. Was that customary of a certain period, unit, or other explanation? Enjoy.

most of the combat troops had their collar tabs removed in the invasion of the Low countries and France supposedly for security reasons.
At this stage Germania was part of the SS-Verfügungstuppe

Nothing to give as to lack of tabs, but...
pretty sure this image was also in a period SS book.

Just checked...in my repro and translated edition "Waffen SS in the West:Holland,Belgium, France 1940" of the original "Waffen-SS im Westen"

the photos translated caption reads
"The order is carried out, assemble!"

Agreed, the trooper posing with the P08 is in that famous shot.

Typical collar tabl lack 1940 from the VT units. Often to find from Germania, Der Fueherer etc.
The photo is quite well known. But quite harder to find the postcard.
