Don't like the skull or the RF-SS label.

The interior looks convincing, and the eagle appears original. Somebody has monkeyed with it though with that tag and beady-eyed skull.

          regards, Robert

I would like to see behind the sweatband, my gut says repro, but lets see the liner behind the SB as well as the pasteboard.

This visor sold at an auction just north of where I live for $350
There was a AH formal napkin also, but pics were rather bad, they only had
the first pic you posted on the auction website
                      Skull looked bad to me

                        Here was the seller's description:

"Up for Sale is a WWII German SS Officers Hat with Insignia. I am pretty sure this would have been a dress hat. It shows moderate wear on the inside and the insignia are tarnished but it is very rare and in my opinion in excellent condition for it's age. This was brought back by a Sgt. Ralph Anderson from Company K, 232nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Rainbow Division.

What a rare piece of history. I am Asking $2,500 buy it now."<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

(Ralph Anderson was one of the first at the Eagles Nest, and Johnson got all his stuff and featured it in one of the War Booty books--this hat was not among them).

In any event, the hat is either a ground-up repro or a parts piece.

Here is the napkin--I know nothing about these (and the pics are pathetic):

"the item up for sale is a WWII Linen Napkin from the Eagles Nest. The initials AH are displayed on either side of the logo. The plaque reflects the US soldier who brought it home. Sgt. Ralph Anderson Company K 232nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Rainbow Division. States the napkin came from the Eagle's Nest above Berchtesgaden. The Napkins main color is like a beige or off white while the embroidery is in White White.
I also have another auction running for a German SS Officers hat and will combine shipping if you buy them both.
I am asking $1000.00 Buy it now."
