    Italian camouflage smocks/garments

    Hi,

Italian camouflage garments are a bit the ugly ducklings amongst collectors of camouflage garments, but original photos of the Normandy campaign do show these were widespread worn and existed.
Can you please post some original footage with visible pieces? What patterns where worn? Were they tailored after the textbook Tarnjacke pattern?

What would be your opinion on this piece?

    Kind regards,
    Gerd V

        italian camo

        ...ugly ducklings...?!...maybe...
Here my humble contribution from my collection: Polizei windjacke and unusual two pockets field tunic...
Maybe because I'm from Italy, but I like this kind of camouflage!

I think the Italian camo pattern is one of the most attractive. I would love to find a period made set of Italian camo pants. Hell even a period set of Splinter camo pants would be great but Italian camo is by far my favorite. Matt

Postwar (not a fake or repro though), IMO, made from a german zelt that was made from italian material, obviously.

              Cheers

Italian camo is a bit underrated in the Waffen-SS community. But for me it's the battle of Normandy when I see them. I have a nice set as well....

                          Hi,
What are the thoughts on this one. Why would it have been impossible that there have been wartime made garments out of Italian Zelts?

                          Kind regards,
                          Gerd V
