Hand made SS wooden box w/ documents

I just got this in. What do you guys think? The workmanship appears as I would think. The paperwork appears to be the real deal. I bought this on some crappy pics and was quite skeptical, but now that I have it in hand, I think it has a chance to be authentic from the period. Its roughly 8X11 and a half inches. It is missing a couple pieces of trim and the top lock is missing. Opinions?

Thanks guys. I see nothing on it that leads me to believe its not real. From what I understand, it is a gift box from the 17 ss standarte. The certificate is a for a new born baby? I dont read German, but its what a friend said.

I don't have the time for a full translation but your friend is right.The document says that the box was a gift from the 17.SS Standarte.With the box came a 40,00 reichsmark donation on a savings account for the new born.

This is a true SS cultural item that probably was handed over at the birth ceremony.

Yes. You are correct Etienne. The Urkunde features the lebenrune (life-rune).

Original and period in my opinion, a very rare item too that I have only seen one other time. Its appearance and presence are brilliant, wish it was mine.
