    Hello All, I picked this up at a flemarket a few months ago. I think its a older well made fake. What do you all think? thanks for your time... Karl

                I also agree that this is a Janke hat. Genuine Waffen SS officer's visor hats are very rare-very rare!!!!!! Branch piped visor caps are 100 times rarer. I hope you did not get stung too badly.

                    Sorry Karl,
                    I remember back in the 60's they were making these caps, only thing original they used were real eagles and skulls, something to keep in mind

                      While knowing zilch about the cap itself,I'd say the insignia is the fakes that were in circulation in the mid 70's,often having an orange tint to the back and soft,brittle pins poorly 'sweated' on.
