    Hello gents,
looks good to me and I am of that opinion that this cufftitle is uniform removed piece and obviously shortened.
    What are your thoughts?

    Thank a lot!

          Cufftitle is good.

Hard to tell if the damage is legit but I tend to think it looks ok. Unused BeVo Horst Wessel cufftitles are not rare. Used ones are scarce!

Original cufftitle but the 'wear' looks VERY suspicious to this old cynic.

It looks to me suspiciously like one of the latest " text book " titles that the fakers
                    are now turning out.
Just my opinion,I wouldnt bet money on it.

                      .

                      Franco,

Please expand on these new fakes that have surficed that replicate the correct dot pattern to the reverse of the bevo bands, I have not witnessed such accurate reproductions .
Real bevo bands are very easy to distinguish from reddick fakes etc ..

Yes the aging looks contrived but the reverse looks textbook to me!

                        Hi,
Im refering in particular to the single line of stitching on the reverse, top and bottom, this has always been one of the weak points on fakes.
Im not talking about cheap fakes, instead, fakes that take more time and effort
to produce. In view of the high prices that SS titles command its worth it for the
                        fakers to get it right.
Some of them nearly get it right. The white line on these is too regular and is
interrupted at regular intervals with a vertical strand of black cotton. What you see
is a perfect line of white dashes. As I said, this is a not so good one,but what it shows is the path that the fakers are now going down. They know what collectors
look for in " text book " titles.Just because the reverse looks OK it now does not
                        mean that it is OK.
Also as a side note, consider the inexaustible supply that is on the market of SS titles, most of them are unissued and mint.Still they keep coming.

                          Fake Cuff Title

Can you post some images (front and reverse) of one of these fakes?

                            .

                            Franco,

Thank you for your response, I was not aware that a new generation of super fakes were available, which would be very concerning.
I would love to see some examples of these new fake bevo bands...
As far as I was aware this wasn't the case, the large quantities of unissued bands that surficed were from dachau finds etc etc

If you have any images Im sure we'd all be very grateful Franco?

                            Thanks
                            Simon

I have not seen the super-fake BeVo's but you can probably wait for them to pop up sooner or later.

The good BeVo's that are plentyfull out there re indeed mostly the Dachau finds. The minty Horst Wessels, SS-polizei Division, Florian Geyer, Reichsfuhrer SS, Gotz von Berlichingen, LAH and a few others. They are not rare. Not saying these are not or would not be faked as they still sell for a nice sum.

The used Frundsberg, Hitlerjugend, Wiking and Totenkopf ones for example are a lot harder to find. And more costly...

                              Just my two cents.

                              Erik
