SS helmet and camo cover

i like the lid,cant comment on cover

Some of the advanced ss helmet collectors on the helmet forum can tell you from the marker and batch number if this one were born as an SS helmet. For wath it is worth I Can tell you that the liner and shell is original, the paint looks original also. The drawstring is not original and for me the decal area and what is left of the decal dos not give me a good feeling.

And if the camo cover is bad as some one all ready said ( I cant comment on that )
You are left with a molested M42 helmet with a honest liner and repro cover of a total value araound 300$.....

Taken from GHW "helmet lotnumber database":

M42 D257 NS 64 SD LW steel liner eagle 98% - light brown leather (hole in the rear tongue)

M42 D257 NS 64 SD LW steel liner 1943 eagle 99% - tan leather - rather minty helmet (unissued) - faint dome stamp

Can not comment on the cover, but that helmet is NOT happening.
