    My SS Officer's Collar Tab

I think I picked this up about 15+ years ago. It was from an ad I placed.
Not knowing too much on these I asked if it had a tag on the back.
He said I'll call you back. The tab was still sewn to the collar piece
and he cut it off to look for the tab. He called back and said Yes it did.
Anyway I bought it. He said his dad had brought it back from the war.
    Original?

Thank you Robert. I keep the two pieces separate as I think the collar still has moths.

            .

Nice, why do you think the collar still have moths? Have you noticed more cloth being eaten? After 15 years I'd suspect they'd have started on the rune tab base material as well!

Sorry, thought they were two different tabs, but tab is detached from the mothed collar , right?

            Very nice

Here's a tip learned from a conservator who worked in a museum and dealt with textiles. Before they brought any new textile items into the museum which might come in contact with other cloth items-to the freezer it went. The below freezing kills not only moths but their eggs also.

Not a bad tip, out with the frozen pea's in with the tunics!

My wife is going to love that.

The tab is fine but the collar is now going into the freezer.
                        Thanks

oh my goodness, just see someone had removed it.
that lowers the value for my view when someone knows this sin.
