I wouldn't call it a fake, I'm not sure about but the way it's woven reminds me on Belgian made Reitz eagles, it's not the same pattern but perhaps another foreign made piece IMO it has a good chance to be a original wartime piece

I wish I could give you a definitive answer. However, I have a strip of two of the eagles, from a good source, over 30 years ago. I also would love to know more about these eagles.

This type has been shown before with unenthusiastic reviews. It was presumed fake and dubbed the "Tucan Sam" eagle (though I believe the proper spelling is actually toucan). If you do a search for the name as it appears in quotes, you will find the other threads.
