    SS bleu cuff no 10

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

    I am in the process of acquiring this cuff but if I feel mostly comfortable with the quality and origin, I have a small doubt. The cuff is wider than the other ones I have of the same colour (nr.4) and the texture feel different also. Can someone see something wrong with it with the posted pictures??

      Marc,

      From my knowledge the border colour is wrong for a number 10. They should be dark red, not blue. However, I really don't think those are numbers...they look more like letters to me.

      Perhaps someone more versed in SS cloth could expand and explain.

      PS - I found an image depicting the number 12 on a cuff-title. This one was on my Standarte 81 tunic I owned a while ago. You can see how the number "1" should be shaped.

        marc,
        Sorry,the blue edged cuff title you have posted is a fake, they have not even removed the paper from the back of the embroidery on your example as well, this type is a later trait of fake embroidery, I have a similar fake band somewhere I will see if I have it scanned but it is the same type of band as this example you posted.
        cheers,
        Gary

          Darryl ,
          your example looks like it is hand embroidered rather than machine embroidered, just realised i do not have a 12 but i have a machine embroidered 11 :-),
          you can find originals with the bottom bar like on yours but on the whole they are without the bottom bar
          cheers,
          Gary

                thanks for this numbered cufftitle thread. I just can agree the "10" title from Mark isnĀ“t original. I like this numbered stuff very much, perhaps with the colored borders
