I did the burning test with most of the threads found on the jacket...most where good, only the ones on the holes for the "beltsupporthook" and buttonholes.
These where of a synthetic material.

I have seen this on original jacket button hole thread and it is fine...The thread may ball up like melting plastic but the ball should crush to ash if I remember right.

Hello guys,

So, this weekend I made the trip to Austria and met the man who had this jacket. I saw what I saw and whas by that time convinced that this was a good jacket, also knowing about the comments on this forum.
Although I did'nt found annything weird, once at home I did the burning test with most of the threads found on the jacket...most where good, only the ones on the holes for the "beltsupporthook" and buttonholes.
These where of a synthetic material. Also under the collar the HBT is sewn with less more thread then other collars on other jackets.

I will try to post as qiuck as possible some pics of my further examination and findings. Anny info/comments by then are most welcome.

I'm convinced this tunic is original The first idea which striked my mind was
that you've probably misinterpreted your burning test conclusion. In some cases the wartime threads used for belt hook holes and also on button holes is "Haspelseide" or "Knopflochseide" in English simply rayon This burns almost like polyester thread and the remains look like melted plastic like from polyester thread. But its for sure not the same, you will probably smell the difference when burning it, Haspelseide smells more like burning hair
By the way don't cut to much threads

Don't worry about the threads, I will quit doing that, otherwise I have no jacket annymore

The stamps in many jacket I saw and owned have been also added post war to increase the value of the tunic
I am not a big fan of this stamp, by the way like this tunic

Maybe just the picture John but the stamp is the last thing I value, I have no problem with this tunic

Nick, I see now the unmistakble original german wool and the liner is surely made with that same we often see in M43 caps
