That auction is without equal in the beautiful tunics of formal SS wear and of course von RIBBENTROPS PIECES.Goering's personal Embroidered 2nd PATTERN STANDARD IN COLOR H-101 100 CM is truly a work of art and went for $40,000.I won 12 items in that auction and the SS DRUM MAJORS BATON with the battery pack and the light for nighttime is a piece i still kick myself for not putting in a higher bid as you will never see another.Just to have the catalog is nice!CDR

Great idea and an amazing thread!

I will throw in another unquestionable piece this week as well.

I agree, as much as I like the idea of having such a thread, maybe we should focus on unquestionable items ... Kurt

SS uniform of SS-GruppenFuhrer Dr. A. Seyss-Inquart, the Hitler appointed 'Reichskommissar für die besetzte Niederländische Gebiete'.

This uniform (together with his Diplomatic uniform) was 'liberated' in May 1945 by an Adjudant of HM Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands in one of the Seyss-Inquart's residences in The Hague.

In 2001, the Adjudant - who had kept them in his private war souvenir collection - 'donated' both pieces to the Dutch Army Museum,
where they are on display today for everybody to view!
Thank you Nick for showing this

Regarding to the authenticity of the items here, I try my best to go and find them on reliable sources when possible. If you see a piece that is for sure fake, ask the mods to take it off.

I think we can make a very nice thread here and you can help me too

            Regards,
            Sepp.

You know how everyone who thinks they were reincarnated thinks they were napoleon or cleopatra?

I have seen maybe 3-4 SS items with typed paper nametags....

                1) The Tyschen Helmet (here)
                2) The Wittmann holster (Here)
                3) As a teenager i was really impressed with the Kurt Meyer gasmask in a Normandie museum
                4) Cannot remember, not a recognisable name...

Seems like only famous people stuck in typed labels back then?

Just a normal bureaucratic process - those in positions with offices attached handled and got it that way.

You mean... if you are famous and have medals... you have access to a typewriter?

                    Sounds like North Korea...

Ill applaud any thread showing very nice attributable items but as has been said a couple have been panned in previous threads.
Regarding the high profile typing pool - I have to doubt that when Michael wittmann was an NCO he had a secretary in the field making him name badges up! Wonder if he had them glued into his socks too?

Sepp45 wonderful thread just wondering if there any picture evidence or proof that those rings to Kaltenbrunner and Heydrich do belong to them or not.

I agree. I have commented on several of these threads of your's Sepp, pointing out that what you have posted are obvious fakes and yet you steamroller onwards posting more discredited or obviously fake items without even acknowledging the errors. Make sure you KNOW they are originals otherwise it's just a waste of bandwidth like the old 'Cultural' debacle.

Oh and Thorsten ... please spare us more of your fake rubbish
