      8k Dr Dolch?

Tom Wittmann had one, without a chain, for sale at the MAX, in 2012 and he was asking almost 3 times that much. That same one, with the missing chain, has been owned by several different collectors in the past 8 years, if I'm not mistaken. It might have come out of Wally Hombach's collection after he was killed in a motorcycle crash (?) The ideal outcome now, would be to mate this chain with that gorget and complete it.
Warren Sessler told me recently, that when he operated a Detroit militaria store on Conner s/of Gratiot in the early 1960s, a vet brought in a factory box, containing a dozen SS standard bearer gorgets, still separated by tissue paper and of course in mint, unused condition. These were purchased for about $120- and Warren sold them for $35- each. WHERE DID THEY ALL GO???
This is one of the items on my want list, but with a 20k price tag, I'll never own one, unless I win the Lotto, or something.
