skull- what the heck is it?

Hello-

A patient of mine gave me this skull and a hitler youth badge that was taken from a desk somewhere in germany after liberation from a POW camp. Anyone know if this is to a visor? Is this real or fake? Id does not appear to have any stamps. Thanks for any help!

It's a small Totenkopf that goes on the Schulterklappen. If you're an officer in TK anyway. Looks original to me, haven't seen that many so far.

I am afraid it is not, it is a collar Tk for the HEER panzer troops, the shoulder strap tk for ss-tv Rgt Oberbayen is much different from this pattern, it looks like a miniature 2nd pattern cap tk,

Thanks again for the information guys. This guy is a patient for a clinic I have at the VA. He suggested I put up a sign on the bulletin board that I am interested in medals, as he said many guys would sell stuff they did not want. I will give it a try. These old guys are a real treasure, with so many stories I wish I could skip the reason they are there and just bs with them! Thanks again.
