    Couple of fantastic cut offs

Fresh from a UK vet estate- really fine lightly worn pieces. I understand the hammerhead is a wartime variant?

    Hope you like

Is the eagle at the top of this thread a true hammerhead?

Morning Harry, I believe these are later war eagles with a vaguely similar style, certainly not THE hammerhead.

                  Hi Ian

You are quite correct that this type of eagle is not the pre war SSVT hammerhead which are very rare indeed but my understanding was this was still a legitimate version of the hammerhead eagle c.1940-41.

Or have things changed and this eagle is no longer considered a hammerhead? You identified the twin of this eagle as a hammerhead just a few months ago

Hi Patrick, yes it is a hammerhead style but as I said to Harry not THE Hammerhead we all know and love Personally I prefer the early round head SSVT/Waffen-SS eagle the one with the detailed feet

My sugestion is the thread starter eagle is not a hammer head, but not a simple RZM eagle. It is approx a 1941 year made eagle, I've seen several of similar eagles on the wraps
