Unique SS Memorial Oak Tree Planting Photo...

As Oak was synonymous with / an integral part of various SS Artifacts (including the ever controversial SS "Wooden Casket"), I thought many here would enjoy this somewhat unique SS Oak (Tree) related photo I recently was fortunate enough to obtain. The reverse of the photo reads:

In Holten (a little town near Oberhausen)

Für einen gefallenen SS-Kameraden wird eine Eiche gepflanzt.

An oak is planted for a fallen SS-Kamerad

Really interesting photo! Correct me if I'm wrong but the oak-leaf is a symbol of immortality, faithfulness, and pertinacity in Germanic Kultur. Makes sense when planted in remembrance for fallen Kameraden.

The oak was a symbol of strength in military use. Oakleaves formed part of senior rank collar insignia for the Wehrmacht, SA and SS. The Reichsführer-SS also wore oakleaves on his shoulder boards.
                Great candid photo.

most of the high ranks all had oak leaves to denote their power. I think Goering's and the SA and HJ all had the same design
