I would like to see closer photos of the surface of the medal and of the holding link ... Its hard to say with these shots

From what I see this 4 years medal is a fake.
But better pictures are needed to be 100% sure.

Hmm..first impression for me is that it is an original.

A clear shot of the surface and the suspension loop/ring will clearify that.

Can't tell for certain from those pics, but it may be one of the 'bubbled stippling' fakes.

As I thought, it's a fake with the bubbled/pebbled stippling. The detailing on these is very close to the originals (with the exception of the stippling) and regularly pop up on dealers sites as original. There was a spate of alleged ground dug examples of this particular fake that appeared on the market last year; all accompanied with a story linking them to well known, hard fought battles involving the SS. There is also a similar 8 year fake with this type of stippling, which is easily recognised by it's wreath, which resembles a crown of thorns. More recently; poor quality versions which have been cast from these 'bubbled' fakes, in a white metal, are now doing the rounds.
