SS Hauptsturmfuhrer Tabs for review

Here we have 2 Hauptsturmfuhrer Collar Tabs

A Left ... B Right

A The one on the right seems to be okay with pips / rank tresse etc but has a green ish tint to the black material

B Also seems to be okay ... Its a better quality item than A but the pips are a brass in colour which at some stage could have been silver washed when new.

These are both completely different tabs in construction and quality .....
both are made of a badge cloth with what seems original rank tresse.
All the pips are tight and what seems to be inbedded into the tab itself.
But what do you think of them ... is it a or a

Sorry, missed that you wrote that. It means my eyes are not that bad but it also means your A rank tab is not SS. My best guess would be SA officer.

Yes, looks solid green to me. It has original litzen as nearly always used by SS. As for construction, it looks period. My guess is for SA officer. Not so common though to find SS litzen on SA tabs. More common the other way around.
Perhaps more members can fling in?

Both tabs look slightly elongated, which is not very typical for SS (not saying impossible) my guess would be both are SA

both look legit.
the right tab has the lesser used wide tresse/litzen.
the left tab with the green cloth may possibly be attributed
to the Polizei Division. Maybe a personal non regulation tab
at the transition of Wehrmacht type insignia to that of the
Waffen SS?

Neither tab looks green enough to be from SA or other groups, and it may just be a fading. IMO they are not overly elongated for SS use, and generally appear to be the proper size and shape for SS.

The green tab is not for SS as I see it. Ever seen another green SS tab that is not for generals? I have not.
SA definetely had this deep green colour.

Agree, both look SS to me. Perhaps green dye from the collar leached into the tab at some point.
