    SS Officer Sleeve Insignia

    Hello Gentlemen,

It has been a while since I have been on the forum; just back from an Afghanistan deployment.

I have the opportunity to purchase these three pieces of SS Cloth Insignia and I would like to some opinions on them. They all came direct "from a veteran's estate."

Any help would be much appreciated.

3 cloth eagles are poor repros

The dealer who is making the outrageous claim that these came from a vet's estate is either believing someone else's lie or is totally untrustworthy, regarding future dealings. Please believe the opinions stated above and do NOT touch this grouping. The only original thing in the photo, is the medal.
To try and peprpetrate this fraud on a vet just back from, A-stan is even more despicable. Those repros aren't even good repros.

Sadly it could be a perfectly honest mistake on behalf of the family ... unscrupulous collectors have been swapping items in and out of genuine veteran's collections for years. I believe it was someone like Erich Topp who had his awards stolen and replaced with fakes ?

My wife and girls know nothing about militaria and if they sold the dregs of my former collection they would assume that what I had was real .. it looks, smells and IS old ... perhaps 40 years old. See what I mean ?
