    SS Cammo Rank

I saw one of these on a dealer site. It looks interesting, but the bands below the oakleaves are much longer than the pics I've seen of this anywhere else. What do you think?

Is this type of stripe length unusual?

Just thought I'd ask how normal this variation is.

      Hi Dallas,
They look very similar to the set in Robins book "SS Regalia"(pg 106)
Similar length of bands in relation to oakleaves.

I personally like the set you show and dont see anything wrong with them.

Are these not from Bill Sheas site?

        Thanks!

Yes they are from Bill's site, and I wasn't worried about authenticity, but was interested as to how common or the rarity of this type. Thanks!

          Variations

          Dallas,
Good oberservation. The insignia is absolutely an original example, just a manufacturer's variation. I have one of these for the same rank, SS-Ofuh, and mine also has interesting variation as well. Usually the bars were sewn own in green thread for the green (Off.) versions, and yellow (Gen.) versions. My example is sewn on with blue thread, it's not obvious unless you look closely. I will post some pics if I get a chance...Best, John

          P.S. I loved you Planetree # 1 Zelt
