    SS/Heer M40 tunic OPINIONS PLEASE!

I need help on this unusual M40 tunic, dated '39. Could this possibly have been started as an M1939 tunic, then transitioned to an M40? Let me know what you guys think of this. Good or Bad?

It appears this was possibly being converted with officer sew in boards? Does anyone know what the "M39" and "FO. 3 40" stampings stand for? Was this tunic possibly being converted for use in the SS during the transition between 1938-1940? Fist off I need to know if it is original.

M39 was the Heer depot stamp for Munich and 1939 the date they issued the tunic.

I agree, Heer tunic, no SS connection.

Sorry I was confused about the liner system. I've read up on it a bit and now know that Heer and SS M40's had very different linings. Thanks for the opinions though!
