    Eagle and skulls pick up.

I picked these up the other day from a fellow who said he purchased them from a veteran In the 1970's.

I do not Intend to keep them and will be listing on the estand but I just wanted to run them by the experts here first. To me the eagle looks like an earlier example, Is that correct?

Many thanks In advance to all who chime In to help, It Is much appreciated.

    Yours, Guy.

        The eagle is a repro..
The bottom skulls are of the Heer Infantry Regiment 17,
and meant for wear on the peaked hat(schirmmutze).
Some one with more knowledge in this field can ascertain
whether they are original or not.
Same applies for the top two early SS skulls.

As said, the eagle is a fake...

The two top skulls are of one the two versions found in the Berlin hoard. Quite famous or infamous. I know Robin Lumsden liked these skulls and he has a good knowledge of the first pattern skulls. They are similar in shape as Heer husar skulls and similar style were used on early SS headgear.
Some claim these skulls are fakes, sold in Europe on shows and on ebay by a man nick named the "sand box" man.
I really cant tell what is original or not. One of the versions found in the Berlin hoard has the saw tooth prongs. Now, that is a good sign to me.
Critics react on the "shiny" soldering work of the prongs. And the critics say they are all bad... Sold by this strange sand box man.

If you can trace these skulls back to the 70´s it would certainly be an interesting turn. But it has to be 100% verified.
The eagle in this lot is however not a good sign.

          Cheers
          //Felix

You have some interesting skulls there. The hoard type are nice but, I don't think that I have seen that type of Brunswick skull. Different eyes, nose, and bones. Probably just a different variety?

This is the type that normally pops up...
