SS Arm Eagle - Real?

I have this SS Arm Eagle in my collection that I have always assumed was a repro - until I read about the use of Aluminum bullion thread. Is there a possibility that this item is real or am I way out on a tangent on this one - hopefully I don't get laughed off the forum for posting this one.
