Hello all,
I want to thank you all for all the information you have given me. I have learnt two things. First how to identify a genuine SS scull better and second that even a very good friend can make a mistake about the originality of SS sculls.
I am happy with all the information provided by you but I am also unhappy that I did not succeed in getting the M43 cap I was looking for.

However I did get a very nice SS sidecap today (see the forum), and this example is genuine though. Thanks to all of you, Paul

I,m glad I could help you also as another dutchie
I myself also burned my hands on some fakes a few years ago
And thank,s to this forum
I also learned about the many fakes and reproductions
With ofcourse the help from the older and more advanched collectors

the tk is a fake, i know you said the insignia has been added after the war but also if you look carefully(post # 6) you can see where a trapezoid has been on the front of the cap as well,
