Help Needed on an Unknown Tunic

    Hello,
Let me start of by saying German tunics aren't my specialty. I have owned maybe 2-3 originals and those were the only ones I have researched in-depth. I have the opportunity to purchase this tunic (rather cheap) and wanted to ask the experts whether or not it is original, reproduction, post-war fantasy piece, etc? I wasn't sure if it was SS or Wehrmacht so mods place this topic wherever it best fits. Thank you everyone in advance!
    -Grant
P.S. These were the only two photos I have, so I am sorry if it is not much to work off of!

    Hi,

looks to be a RDA post-war uniform with a very bad insignia...

Is the eagle actually sewn over the collar? Those photos are enough, you don't want it.

The eagle looks like it might be glued to the lapel and the chest

Good for you posting this for discussion, Now run away! I agree with joecool that the eagle is looking glued on, so now it is a ruined RDA tunic for those that collect this sort of thing if stripped of TR eagle and boards as glue is often impossible to remove from the material.

If I were you I would send the photos back to the seller, as I would not even want them in my house LOL... was there any story from the seller like it belonged to Hitlers brother?

Happy Hunting in the future and for the most part you can't go wrong buying off the e stand.

                  Unglueing insignia

Just a point about glued on insignia. I spilt 'Superglue' on a pair of suit trousers and assumed I had ruined them. But I used the appropriate Superglue remover and after repeated applications the trousers are now back to 'as new' condition. Perhaps this can give hope when insignia has been glued down and removed.

This reminds me of the tunics that the old WWII LTD used to sell in thier catalogs.
