    Himmler SS Honor Ring

I recently purchased what I've been after for awhile, a genuine Himmler SS Honor Ring and actually spent more than an hour on the phone with Don Boyle, who I found to be very open about everything concerning this hobby. I did not purchase the ring from him but he had certified it; the name on he ring also appears in Graig Gottlieb's book as one of 200 rings documented and recorded as original by Craig and Don. Mine is dated 21-6-44, a summer solstice ring. I also have an extensive file from the National Archives regarding his background before the war; he received the ring while a Sturmbannfurher. This is a great addition to my collection and if I could read German I'd be happier. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Max congrats on adding a long sought after piece to your collection. It is always satisfying to chase the object of your desire and finally add it. Now is the time to start planning your next acqusition! Post more photos and information about the original owner if you get a chance.

                  Hi,

Thanks for the comments. The officer's name was Heinrich Voss. He received the honor one year after being promoted to Sturmbannfurher. Other awards include the EK2; Wound Badge in Black and the War Merit Cross 2nd class w/swords.
