SS sidecap with insignia

Hello, we are looking for comments on this SS cap which my friend has in his collection.
He has always believed it be a good original cap, but somone has just expressed some doubts, so we thought what better place to request comments than here.

I'm nothing close to knowing what I'm talking about...but I do believe that the SS skull with the very droopy right eye (left looking at it) is a known fake.

Insignia is repro and cap is bad as well, IMHO

Not a real cap unfortunately. The insignia are common reproduction pieces.This is a re-enactor type setup.
