      LOL!

Let me expound upon my request and please excuse me if this is a dumb request and or question but it seems after looking through the Beaver books and numerous other SS uniform books it is uber rare to see an SS offizier bluse in doeskin they all are trikot or gabardine. You do see doeskin mantels though.

Seems like most doeskin bluse you see are WH models.

      So what's the story here?

Maybe the SS guys were less flamboyant...lower educated and working class guys as opposed to the Heer Officer class.

yes I align my thoughts with John Pic.
Doeskins were top end products, more
associated with the aristocrisy of the Wehrmacht
or the SS officers of high standing.

The tunic of an old school Army soldier of the first war...not a young Waffen SS officer. Sure they were Elite in a military sense but not in the "class" sense of the word. They were not the "Captain Stransky" types...don't see a lot of "Von" in the ranks the Runes....Von Ribbentrop and he was a young officer.

                    Is that a contradiction?

that is not doeskin..not even boiled wool. the listing even says its a wool rayon blend . Doeskin is soft and smooth not like this nappy rayon blend. In fact the other one may be just that too but in better condition...I would need to see closeups of the material.

Agree doeskin is never too nappy but it is nappy.
                          From textileglossary.com:
What is "Doeskin"- Definition & Explanation
Made from wool and also rayon in a harness satin weave or a twill weave that is napped on one side. Doeskin has a very smooth, lustrous surface made with a slight short nap and compact weave to look like fine leather. The weave is not visible because of napping.

To me the doeskin in uniforms means high-quality wool with "not-too-nappy" surface.

Are these tunics doeskin in your opinion?:

That is correct. The SS wanted to break with the pride of place often encountered in the wehrmacht and the officialdom.

According to the official version aristocracy was suspect to them and farmer sons as well as those of the working class where held in a much higher regard. ...Reminds me a bit of communist ideals... It is also of interest to know that the SS offered the possibilty to become an officer even if you didn't do your A level.

A good deal of these young ss officers didn't have the financial means to afford fancy uniforms and also probably lacked the appreciation for that sort of fashion. ...Others on the other hand had the means and the appreciation, fewer than in the wehrmacht though IMO.

                            Cheers

                              Stimmt!

Agree totally with Fritz, people forget about the word "Socialist" in National Socialist.

The Nazis were Class Levelers, think about that whole, "everybody goes through the RAD before you can become anything else", concept.
