    SS Berghaus Bayrischzell

Last week I was able to obtain this complete tea service set from an antique picker friend. He had obtained from the Vet's daughter recently. She stated her dad had brought it home from war after liberating service set from the berghaus retreat.
Set is complete, and each piece is marked with the classic Bauscher Weiden stamp to bottom.
Haven't seen another tea set like this prior only a serving dish or plate. Please feel free to comment, I'm still researching retreat and items.

            I just don't get it .... Sorry
Why should crockery be marked with the name and place of work & rest .... ?
In my opinion this is something that has been added by way of a transfer at a later stage. After all the Bauscher Weiden Company were still trading long after the war ended

David, thanks for response and explanation.
I dont know why but the Germans marked nearly everything!
So why not the retreat service set?
I would like to know if someone has knowledge that in fact these did exist period or not.

I see no reason to disbelieve them- lots of TR crockery was marked on the obverse with emblems and identifiers...

                          Could be

It's so difficult in verifying these things at times. And it does
bear the same motif as the prev mentioned diningware.
Purchasing third person items like these I would surely have
                          to trust the last seller.

                            Thanks for reviews.
It is difficult and one needs to be suspicious when dealing with ss items.
Still, looking to verify existence of ss berghaus crockery?

Was the fork with the set? How is it marked?
