And yours is a nice original one too...

I agree with you, the unfolded ones were just unissued stock from rolls.

Interesting, but many items where produced like the thin ones showed and folded before sewing as example ss cloth sculls, geb.jag.edelweiB silk, AK 288 patch etc.etc.

That is true...but maybe with rank bars its different?
LW sleeve rank gulls/bars are always neatly edge treated for easy application!
