                its true fred! see page 160 of Charlie Snyders new book "looting the Reich"! Best $100.00 investment Ive ever made. He has DECADES of experience & really breathes life into history WAY MORE experience than anyone who spends hours on these stuffy forums I bought one just like this from Charlie & he gave me a LIFETIME guarantie!, I wouldnt spend almost $1,000 on a cut off without it.

                            That actually appears to be an original cut off from an Italian woolen uniform...

                            These star insignia are from the Royal Italian army.
                            Usually worn in metal on the collar on top of "mostrine" collar insignia, but such cloth star variants also exist...
                            I believe such cloth ones were actually intended for fatigue wear ...I might even bid on it!

                            So its not a "make believe" put together SS item...just a mis-identified Italian cut off. The edge stitching of the collar
                            also point to it's Italian origin...note arrows Authentic!
