    SS runic (kantine?) ring

I saw this come up on auction right before it ended but had to pass on it since it went over $1200 and I knew nothing about it.

Has anyone seen an authentic kantine ring like this before? The description just said it's made of nickel-silver and had "CJ" and "3 ??[something]" stamped inside.

The patina and wear definitely looks the right age, but I suppose it wouldn't be hard to fake that...

...this is a typical style for private purchased SS rings at that period.
I do like it and till prooven to be fake I have strong feelings to be real.

How common would you say these are?

I really like the design of this piece and would love to have one in my collection, but besides this one I have never seen any like this before for sale or in photos.

Is there a good resource for seeing what kantine rings were produced and sold at the time?

...originals are less common than a totenkopf ring...but much cheaper and less in demand.

one of the rarest pattern of rings to have!

i know a 100% original in an Austrian collection.

1200$ is quiet a sum, but reflects the worth of this pattern.

Cap ,there is a small German monograph for the WestWall rings. Mostly info from the various forums..
The private purchase ring reference is massive well over 100 rings just in the 'Authentic' chapter. It must be done this year so keep an eye out on the forums above for an announcement..
