the SS seen are the early version which matches the early date. I have several early documents from the 1930's whch use the same style of SS. I like the document. Very nice addition to your collection.

Thanks for the kind words Capt. I have since passed the document on to one of my good friends who cherishes and item like that more than me.

Would you mind posting pictures for comparison? Are these the only two out there?

Sorry I cant,no posting privilege for pictures. But to my untrained eye it is exactly the same as shown before.

wow yes, great to see another! Is the paper quite thin? The other has paper thinner than standard/other award documents like for the Julleuchter, Ehrendegen, etc...

Wonder how many are out there.....2?????

I contracted Don Boyle and he doesn't know of any others. Anyone?

Yes its paper is rather thin, but it is glued on a cardboard,so no idea exactly.
There is another one shown in a German forum

Yes but that in fact is the first one that traveled around the world. So we are still aware of only two examples.

When you think of the circumstances, you can imagine why there are so few. These were the first 50,000 members of the FM and a couple years later Himmler decides to give them a sop, er, another pin and a piece of cheap paper with some heroic words. So just like the FM membership books, most of the stuff is lost or trashed especially after May 1945.

There was no SS connection like the Urkunden for the Jullleuchter, the degen or other items presented to SS members.

Ya, it makes sense; still though, at 50,000 you would think a few more would be out there. Which they probably are somewhere...in private collections and bookshelves perhaps...
