Schwalbennester

I think it is original. The tress pattern design of your Schwalbennester (Swallows Nest) closely resembles that of an SS-Musiker (Bandsman) minus the fringe. See image below.

A review of SA Schwalbennester in the Search function, specifically: http://www.wehrmachtawards.com/forum...chwalbennester shows a completely different pattern of tress in the many examples exhibited. This would seem to indicate/confirm that your Schwalbennester to be post mid 1934 when the SS and SA changed regulation requirements for this item (Angolia, Cloth Insignia of the SS, 2nd Edition, 1989, Page 173.).

I believe I've said this before but as Charles demonstrates the SS ones I've seen have had RZM tags, That's NOT to say your's is a fake though .. just an observation.

Nice! Tresse on these seem to be wider though... still 7 vertical tresse as shown in reference book !
