SS cloth skull and eagle for opinions

Could I please get some opinions on the originality of this cloth cap skull and eagle please.

Original silky grey eagle, the skull looks squashed up but also original .... they are both typically found on fezes

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the input! It was my thoughts as well that the insignia came off a fez, although I'm not sure about this "zipper" in the skulls head. I don't have the item in my posession, but will look into it further.
I went through over 10 pages of cloth skulls using the search function and couldn't find a similar effect in any of them. It may be a neatly repaired tear or something.

I noticed that but cannot make it out on the photograph posted ... perhaps a stitched repair or a pulled & trimmed thread ?

Both good. As for them being typically found on fezes, I have owned or seen fezes with all types of insignia dont think any certain type were set aside for fez application. The Fezes I have do not have this type.
