    What chance does this have...

Of being real? It is up for auction next week. Unfortunately this is the only picture I can get out of them.

    Thanks for the help!

I zoomed in on the photo and you can clearly see the popcorn pattern. I think this one is real

Ahhh, the popcorn pattern! Well, there you have it. That sounds like the insight of a true expert. I am also sure he would only offer such an opinion of authenticity responsibly, knowing what is at stake for you if he were not completely certain what he was talking about. Therefore, you should definitely feel safe in spending a lot of money on this item...

As far as i can tell, the popcorn pattern is when the embroider was in a dark theater watching a very engrossing movie and eating popcorn when they were making cuff-titles...

                Cuff Title

It's the only picture you need. Run far away from this "gem".

Thank you all for your replies. I was 98% sure it was no good based on the wonderful placement of the umlauts and the off kilter runes but I am no expert on these and I figured I would check here on the 2 percent chance it was a rare variation.

It is at a local auction house.

Gary, it never hurts to ask, local auction houses are where treasures turn up on a daily basis.
