    Old Style Skulls...........

    ........were worn throughout the war. These should have been obsolete in 1934.

        Another - being worn by a Totenkopf-Division tanker. It's also unusual to see PIPED collar patches for a T-Div. man. Obviously served in the infantry before tanks.

          Robin,
          It was though a far more common thing than first reported in early reference material thought for tankers and some assault gun crews in the ss to pipe there collar insignia and collars with relevant piping, these reference's at the time referred it was a practice within "WIKING"

                Is it just me, or can you see the vague outline of a jaw pressed into
                the wool under that skull? Also, what kind of knucklehead would show
                up for a photo without his highest badge?
