The Luft chinstrap looks to be a recent addition as there are no witness marks on the visor from the buckles.
Great vaulting to the cap eagle! very jaunty!!

Does anyone else seem to notice the discrepancy in color between the top bulk of the cap and the small section below the black band? In this and especially in the other post I'm noticing that the top of the cap is a very soft green blue and the bottom is a darker, harder green. Both look like colors of original caps, I just thought I'd bring up the difference.

I agree - I see two different fabrics as well [and I think not from simple use of wear] . . . not that strange things like this did not happen, but certainly noticeable in this instance - good catch!

It is not uncommon to see the lower fabric that was pointed out to be a different color. Nothing to cause concern over.

Agreed. Not only will you see it in a different shade, but a different material from the cap body.
