In my honest opinion it is fake plate. The Hiag never ''advertised'' with SS runes.Never saw one like this one before.

    Just my two cents

I could see that easy in regards to the runes, but who in the hell and why in the hell would someone repop a mutual aid plate??

what material is the middle of the plate? porcelain?
..the Runes are more hidden and not really shown..if it is a early good plate, I can imagine that it probably was hard on the limit in the 1950s but tolerated or looked away back then.
wouldnt throw it in the fake bin that quickly

Obviously they never offered any Treffen type souvenirs to the public. If nothing else, the cross design matches the one they would have used in "Viking Ruf" at the time.

            Agreed Mark.

The center is almost like bakelite. Hell, I only paid $35 for it and it looks cool hanging on the bunker wall.

I'd buy it from you if you ever want to sell it

Up to the 1980s vets made and sold steins with anything you wanted on them, including Allgemeine-SS with pretty strong symbols for Germany at the time. Also SS rings copied from an original.

I will keep that in mind Mark. I have a real nice HIAG stein given to me by a SS vet a few years ago.

the centers were sometimes a celluloid.. The plate in postwar of course and a real HIAG piece..
These are not rare,,I usually see at least one at every big show.. they also made stic pins and decorative ribbons all with the HIAG logo..

                    IMO a fantasy piece.
