    SS-Scharführer Infantry Boards

Was going through my collection the other day and came across this nice original pair of Waffen-SS NCO shoulder boards with the rank of SS-Scharführer.

I remember they were on an SS overcoat I purchased from a collector at a militaria
show in 1976. The collector picked the coat up when he was in the Army stationed in Germany. I remember the price for the overcoat with the original sleeve eagle and shoulder boards was a whopping $125.00 Ah! the good old days of military collecting.

Anyway it's nice to see all the detail in the stitching and how the SS boards were sewn. Note the grey colored HBT material used on the inside of the boards. This HBT cloth is found often in the construction of WSS uniforms and hats.

It's not everyday you see a nice matching pair like this. Enjoy!

One thing I noticed is the length of the shoulder boards for the overcoat
are much shorter then the shoulder boards made for a tunic.

To give you an idea of how short these shoulder boards are in length I made this
        comparison photo.
