    SS/SD-Hauptsturmführer shoulder boards

I'm thinking, from what I have looked at & checked on, that this is an SD Hauptsturmfuhrer shoulder board. Do I win a cigar or the booby prize??
    Thanx,
    Tim

    2 more.
I didn't mention that I thought of the SD because of the green piping.

Well, I'll still be happy that it's real. Can someone point me at a good pictured example of the toxic green, so I can see what the difference is in shading?
          Thanx,
          Tim

            "Toxic Green" Waffenfarbe

Here's a link to an SD EM uniform with some excellent shots of the shoulder straps:

Not bright enough for giftgrun (Toxic Green) SD color...I agree...More like SS-GJ as others already commented,
              but maybe its the lighting?

This overcoat on the other hand is an untouched SD officers one, liberated by my brother's father-in-law from a SD headquarters building
in Holland (Its still in the family). Compare!

                Tim,

Although the correct colour for SD boards should, in theory, be described as toxic green (Giftgrün), in reality I have seen SD boards exhibit many different shades/colours of green.

Some of these shades of green display a subtle difference and others are much more noticeable.

So, for me personally, whether an SS shoulder board is described as having waffenfarbe in a light green (Hellgrun), grass green (Wiesengrun) or dark green (Dunkelgrun) I would have no problems in accepting that this could just as easily be an SD shoulder board.

I had someone that handled this board at a show this last weekend and he said that the material didn't feel right to him and he said that he thought it was bad as in a repro. I guess I'll have to take it to a couple of shows with some SS cloth experts there and see if this guy was just pulling my chain for whatever reason.
