    Wewelsburg............again.

Continuing the Wewelsburg theme, here are two pieces of cutlery I've just obtained. They are like those in the castle museum, and came from the general 'kitchenalia' used by the staff and visitors at Wewelsburg pre-'45. A large meat fork and dessert spoon, both are in heavy stainess steel with the fork prongs and the spoon bowl silver-plated. Here they are together - see the Wewelsburg property stamps just visible on the handles.

And the maker's mark. All of the Wewelsburg cutlery seems to have been made by this firm.

Beautiful! One never thinks of cutlery as appealing to the eye but these items with their markings are very nice.

        Thanks for showing!

They match the pictures from the new book:

"Heinreich Himmlers Camelot" by Stuart Russell and Stephen Cook (whom I met
          at Max in Charlotte ).

Bad news for me??......Stephen indicated that my knife and spoon were not authentic.

          Spoon shows "800" marking only
Knife has "Hermann Hahn" Soligen - Wald rostfrei and "remant" on the back

Any one else able to confirm/deny?

          Jim

old period silverware,,but bogus Wewelsburg emblem...

If you search around you will see it has the same lettering style as the bogus 'engraved' pocket watches and cigarette cases...

                          Jim.

                          Sorry, but yours are fake.

There was also a thread about the fake ones on the GDC forum last year.
