    SS Eagle Stick Pin Question

I picked this up last weekend at a flea market in a box of "stuff". I can't find a reference for another one like it. It is Ges Gesch marked only. Any opinions?

I would assume this is a fantasy item ... the SS had the Civil Abzeichen to wear when in civvies why would they need a cap eagle.

          .

It's not made of lead, it's a solid, non-bending, silver colored metal. It is not a cap pin either, it's a miniature. If fake it would be mass produced and it should be easy to turn up more than one. We could say without question it is fake; so far only opinions, mine included. If real, a prototype, limited strike? I find no photographic references here or on other sites. I did a Goggle search for stick pin eagles, nothing like this showed up. If fake, so be it, I have very little invested in it and an ek2 which is unquestionably real.

Soft details and the color of the finish have me thinking this is not an original. Many fakes are made in limited quantities, some decades ago, and are no longer widely available. Some are even unique. It is dangerous to think that if you cannot find another example then it must be real.
