The collection is a set of bag and a shovel Division Totenkopf
On the cover is clear, and that the shovel that is in it for the stamps?
As version - was on the supply of the Waffen SS

there was a discussion on this stamp here somewhere before.. It was on a pistol holster.. Try some searchs

I think Robert H had one like this on a map case. I have one in my collection for 30 years on an MP28 ammo pouch.


Not a great photo not sure its the same exact skull. I will dig it out and report.

The shovel itself is a DUTCH pre-WW2 one , correct design & markings . So a good " Beutestück " , and quite rare in this condition .. !

These shovels were to supply the German army?

Same type scull has came out of east europe during the last 2 decades.
No division/regiment or any detachment letters or number along in this stamp gives it no ID for where to send it. Just assuming that it belongs or being sendt to the TK Division, when other verbands mark it to the specific branch and company (or similar) makes it difficult to understand.
Other known fake smaller metal object stamp has the same TK along with the SS2 marking is east european known fake.

" Beutestück " as in captured equipment - the Germans reissued quite a bit of the Dutch equipment , weapons and uniforms they found in 1940 occupied Holland , though usually to 2nd line units & often modified . I guess the entrenching tools were up to standard as they were ..

Case is in Russia since 1945, he has in his book "The Army of Hell" in 2005.
