So, I am still wondering, where can I have a look at this excellent grouping? Is it up for sale? Where? When?
I mean, if I was a dealer and had a grouping like that, I would do anything to spread the word, that I had it. Come on! A link, please!

              Well spoken!

He had presented this tunic to me independently in an email and told me how he got it from the veteran only shortly before he had passed. He was very proud and loved to show it off.

I only smiled: What this individual did not know at the time he showed me the tunic was that I had only been with the old officer veteran of the LSSAH at his home with my wife and son two months prior to his death.

And guess what? - NO TUNIC, no award docs, only a few badges and a couple of photos. When I asked for a uniform the vet only laughed about my question and told me how it was the first thing he threw away when crossing the Enns on May 8, 1945.

Bottom line: The collector colleague from Germany waited until the old chap died, so the oldtimer could not tell the real story anymore and then he young collector pulled out a put-together tunic which he presented in the Militaria Magazine! The uniform as such was a fake post war French made tunic, so the base material wasn't even real, beside the fact that the tunic had Heer shoulderboards without LAH cyphers!!!
I wouldn't be surprised that the tunic was sold to a naïve collector since then, on the basis of its publication in the militaria magazine.

A lot of twisted minds out there.

Buyers beware. Stay 100% original with a small collection of items and don't try to impress others with things you believe are original because a dealer tells you so.

You will never impress the guys who really know their stuff and have quality collections.

              Never!

I think Ludwig is asking for the Witt grouping, not Fegelein

                              Good point and advice!

I should now really make the test and drive 25 km tomorrow early afternoon to a family which were personal friends of Onkel Heinrich.

To my knowledge that household was never liberated nor ransacked but still is kinda conservative - in fact I expect the black uniform of Grandfather still being hidden in his closet, no kidding.

And it won´t be an EM version - thank you for reminding me of that!

                              I almost forgot about it...

He might not have any to show. I don't, not SS anyway. I know quite a few SS collectors who don't collect uniforms. What's your hangup with tunics and why do you keep asking people to post them, especially when some of those people have already told you they don't own any? There is more to collecting SS than tunics, and just because someone might not own any currently does not mean they haven't in the past, aren't experienced with them, etc. It surely does not mean they can not contribute to a thread about uniforms.
