                The embroidery and materials and the skill executing the designs pale in comparison to period originals. Once you look at originals or photos of them for comparison you will no longer be confused.

                        The 'Ost' Ministry was NOT part of the SS, that's why both photos you demonstrate here show the diplomatic cap and sleeve insignia. (oh and a VERY nice looking diplomatic dagger)

                            The two insignia that you posted are post-war copies. The originals are things of beauty and the epitome of hand work embroidery.
