Yeah its clearly a bogus fashion jacket in fuzzy wool with a fake armband and label...
      BUT
don't alway write off tunics in weird colors! Read further!

This French published article discusses Wehrmacht officers horse racing tunics.
According to the article prior to July 1939 German military officers participating in equestrian events wore a white equestrian uniform, basically like the white summer rock tunic along with a unit (regimental) armband to distinguish the competitors from each other ....

but on July 9, 1939 it reads that the Wehrmacht introduced tunics in various regimental (branch) colors, so even officers that raced horses (not necessarily only Cavalry or artillery branch related) could wear a uniform coat in their own waffenfarbe like infantry: white, motorized branch: pink, supply units : a light blue riding jacket etc...

So you would think than Cavalry would be yellow riding jackets and artillery would be red, but in those cases many colors were used, depending on the regiment to distuingish one competitor from another...
See list with various colors depending on which regiment. If 2 riders from the same regiment competed in an equestrian event, in that case they would wear armbands in seperate colors.

Now of course the war broke out in 1939, so not many uniforms were probably produced as such horse racing events took a back seat, as the war was on...
but if you ever find a rock cut uniform in a color other than white its one of these fancy equestrian jackets!

This has of course nothing to do with this thread's monstrosity, just wanted to share this info, in case somebody runs into a 1939 rock tunic in a strange color like Red or Pink.
These were intended for horse racing!

        Nick,

I'll take one in panzer pink as soon as you locate it!

Never, ever, ever knew of such a thing. Wonders never cease in TR collecting. Thanks for sharing the article.

Interesting, know lets wait till someone dies a white summer tunic in some odd colour and sells it as something extremely rare... (Thats probably how they made these)

If you were colour-blind the inward pleats would be enough.

And what about the female sided buttons....
Could it be some secret female bodyguard detail for uncle Heini?

This antique dealer is selling trash, fake civil wss helmet and red HJ cap all discussed on this forum.

              Lets move on

That arm band is so ridiculously awful that even I picked it. The cap and this go well together. Very interesting about the racing colours. Thanks for that
