The "y" is incorrectly shaped (should look like on a "Y").

There are quite a few of these "still sewn to the sleeve" fakes around - it conveniently makes it hard to examine the backs.

          Regards,

          Fred

Hi Paddy, study this forum as these cuff titles have been discussed before. The whole range of Bevo SS cuff titles have been faked in this style. Briefly, the most obvious errors are to the edges on the reverse. The edges to the border on the front are too tightly woven and should really feature an almost "saw tooth" looking edge to them. It is hard to describe; find a good close up photo of a real Bevo title and you should see what I am describing badly Inspection of one of these fake titles in hand will reveal modern thread and a glow under a blacklight.

Have a look at this sellers website too. There is a lot of repro stuff listed. Plus his "all sale final" to this auction would be a major red flag.

            Cheers, Ade.

              cheers,
