    Collar patch construction method ?

    Hello !

I am doubt about construction method of this collar patch. Look at this: there are the runes sewed through the cloth flap. Who can explain how is this possible ?

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Alex,

that looks like it has been dug up?, please provide more photo's front and back and also a closer picture of where the runes come through the backing cloth on the back, because it looks to me as it is not embroidered directly through the felt, as there seems to be not gauze on top of the flap at the back yet there is gauze inside, in other words it looks like it has rotted through

    cheers,

    Gary

      Hello Gary !

This collar tab looks like "farm found" but not ground dug. Very bad storage oxidized runes but you can see the threads holded piping around the patch. They are too weak to survive in soil I guess.

Here is a picture of the back. Runes come through the backing cloth and emroidered direct though the flap !
